Pricing and Cancellation

Customers can try Identity Lookout free for 30 days. The service costs $12.95 thereafter. Customers are not charged until the 30-day trial period has expired.

For an additional fee customers can add their children to their existing identity theft protection plan.

Identity Lookout's straightforward cancellation policy stipulates that customers who have agreed to pay membership fees in a timely manner using the payment method of their choice may cancel their membership at any time. Should they elect to remain enrolled, their membership remains effective for the period covered by the membership fee and continues upon payment of the monthly or annual renewal fee (as determined during the enrollment process).

Any changes to the membership fee will be preceded by notification via the method customers chose during the enrollment process. Canceling too close to end of the trial or renewal date may cause a processing delay and a charge to a customer's account. Refund-eligible customers can expect to wait seven (7) to ten (10) business days for their refund to be processed.

Summary

Identity Lookout offers reasonably priced basic identity protection service. Identity Lookout's limited customer service hours does make it relatively difficult for a customer to be eligible for its $1 million identity theft guarantee, because the company stipulates that any incident of possible identity theft must be reported in a short amount of time. Should customers experience an identity-theft incident during Identity Lookout's downtime, they may find themselves out of luck with respect to all that great insurance coverage. This drawback aside, Identity Lookout does offer a solid product at an attractive price.
